Ride Sports is hard to miss and easy to come back to: 970 871 5349 Owned and operated by the Steamboat Springs Ski and Resort Corporation for the past 8 years, right in Gondola Square, where the rider traffic meets the mountain. They do tons of rentals and demos out of this store, and also move the tonnage in warm gear and all sorts of accessories. Brands you'll see here on snowboards are Burton, Nitro, and Arbor, with Rossignol and Burton bindings.

The deal on demos is $30 a day for a board, or $48 for full setup, and you can use two days of demo credit on the rig you decide to buy. There is no repair shop or tuning here, but right around the corner you'll find EdgeWerks.
Vacation and other high traffic times here get busy, but the crew here are riders themselves, so they stay clear of the aggressive sales thing and just help the customer find the right rig by being super helpful. Kadie tells me that the crew here is self motivated by their love of the sport, and so great at what they do.

They open 8 AM to 6 PM during the snow season, and there's always someone ready to get your rental rig or show you the lates technology in boots, bindings, and boards.
Ride Sports is partnering with Burton on the Learn to Ride program for new snowboarders. They can get you on the right board, designed to flex for the beginning rider, and then send you up the mountain with the right instructor for 3 days of learning and cruising. This is the kind of full service that gets the new rider the best of the sport right away.

Next time you're through Gondola Square, on your way up the mountain, or coming back down for a mid-day warm up, stop by Ride Sports. And let them know that we sent you!
